Session Abstract:Bring Your Own Device, BYOD, underscores an increasing trend by employees to bring their own mobile devices - laptops, tablets, and cell phones - to work and connect them to the corporate network. But are enterprises prepared for this?
In this session, we will talk about the motivators, the issues and the solutions for addressing BYOD from the enterprise IT departments perspective.

Speaker: Dr. Waheed Qureshi, Chief Technology Officer, Mobile Platform Group, Citrix

Bio: Dr. Waheed Qureshi is currently the Chief Technology Officer of the Mobile Platform Group at Citrix. Prior to that he was the founder, chairman and Chief Technology Officer of Zenprise, a leader in enterprise mobile device management. Zenprise was acquired by Citrix in 2013. Prior to Zenprise, Waheed founded Zambeel, a company that pioneered scalable cloud storage. Waheed started his career at Excelon Corporation where he focused on ObjectStore, the industry-leading distributed object-oriented database management system. A computer scientist by training, his research has been published in several peer reviewed academic journals including ACM SIGMOD and VLDB. He is the principal inventor of nine granted and twelve pending US patents and his honorary and professional memberships include IEEE, ACM, Tau Beta Pai and Eta Kappa Nu. His current interests and expertise includes mobile operating systems, mobile and autonomic computing and file & data management. Dr. Qureshi holds a Ph.D in computer sciences from the University of Southern California.

Title: Enabling Mobile Computing in the Enterprise

Abstract: In this talk, Dr. Waheed Qureshi will discuss the factors enabling the rapid adoption of mobile computing in the enterprises that are driving greater efficiencies, agility and employee and customer engagement. Key technological considerations include which services to mobilize, level of adoption of BYOD, which applications to deploy, how to secure the data on devices, whether to deploy a point solution or an enterprise wide deployment. In addition enterprises need to ensure that their mobile strategy is secure, that it enables an effective governance of their environment using a host of MDM, MAM and Data protection solutions together with an enterprise application suite. Finally, we will address the conception of an enterprise application store which provides enterprises with a suite of applications that provides the level of management and security and address the business use cases needed by the enterprises.

Speaker: Sudhakar Peddibhotla, Director of Engineering, Good Technology

Bio: Sudhakar Peddibhotla is a Director of Engineering at BoxTone (now part of Good Technology), which is the innovator of Mobile Service Management. At BoxTone, he leads BoxTone's Carrier Product Line that allows service providers to embed MDM features into their broader mobility offering. Sudhakar has held various roles in engineering and product management during his 20+ years in the wireless and mobility industry. He holds an MBA from University of Chicago Booth School of Business and BSEE from Indian Institute of Technology.

Title: MDM - Enabling Productivity in the World of Mobility

Abstract: Organizations looking to mobilize their workforce as faced with broad range of choices all trying to address a set of problems involving mobile security, device management, app management, containerization, BYOD etc. In this session, we explore the key capabilities in MDM and present the drivers behind this fast evolving space.
