Title: PCIe Over Fiber

Abstract: PCI Express protocol is designed to ensure fair arbitration of resources and is well suited for low latency communication links between systems. These links have traditionally been served by copper cables where signal integrity challenges limits the supported length to ~ 7 m. PCIe over fiber extends the supported link lengths in excess of 100 m, however have other challenges that need to be considered. This session will discuss these design considerations that enable the extension of low latency PCIe protocol using optics at current data rates as well as for the future.
