Session Abstract:Comsoc SCV is pleased to present two talks on 12th Dec to conclude 2018. The first talk will focus on a low cost programmable calibration tool for IoT devices. The second talk will bring our audience an update on the patents landscape in autonomous vehicles and the rapidly emerging 5G communication technology.

Speaker: Jeffrey Miller, Attorney

Bio: Bio: Jeffrey A. Miller is a patent attorney who handles all aspects of patent litigation, strategic patent counseling, licensing, and both foreign and domestic patent prosecution. Mr. Miller has extensive experience in many different technological areas, including integrated circuit design, packaging and fabrication, biometrics, telecom and wireless, electronic design automation, and Internet. In addition, Mr. Miller has negotiated hundreds of millions of dollars in strategic transactions including the licensing and acquisition of worldwide patent portfolios. He assists clients with large M&A transactions by conducting due diligence studies, portfolio mining and extensive patent analysis.

Speaker: Chelsey Li, PhD Student

Bio: Chelsey Li is currently a PhD student in the SCU Internet of Things Research Lab, working under the supervision of Dr. Behnam Dezfouli. Her work is focused on the reliability and energy efficiency of IoT applications from the sensing and communications point of views.
