Session Abstract:PROGRAM OVERVIEW
5G is one of the key investments for the next decade. The challenges of network connectivity and edge computing have driven research in in Millimeter Waves, Small cells, MIMO, Beam-forming, Optical transport, and other semiconductor technologies, to help realize the 5G vision of tactile internet applications and beyond. Industry and governments are pushing to develop more of the wireless spectrum to support mission critical low latency, cloud-to-edge, innovative mobile applications.
To rein in the massive costs of research and inventions, open source has become a vehicle for shared efforts to standardization for mass deployments of Infrastructure & newer Radio (NR, MEC,NSA/eNdodeB, SA/ gNodeB) and dis-aggregated Packet Core (vEPC) NFV/SDN Platforms. DevOps, Micro Services, CI/CD, modular and agile ways to architect, design, build and deploy is the new norm, and change will accelerate as these approaches move out into our homes through IoT and old industries like health care with AR assisted medicine, and education with VR.
Globalization, immigration, energy insecurity, and economies warped by trade tariffs and protectionism are also disrupting the employment market for people building infrastructure for this digital transformation. In this dynamic challenging environment NFIC-2019 brings to you the Industry and academic leaders who will throw light and new perspectives on how providers are redefining and deploying 5G and Edge Services, through to emerging technologies like Photon Cell site routers and how AI/ML will be applied with new Silicon architectures (NPUs).
Through keynotes and presentations, NFIC will provide a better understanding of the problems and capabilities that come with 5G, for the next generation of engineers or those changing career, so that they can bring the innovation needed to maximize the benefit of this new technology. For those who wish to participate in this revolution, NFIC 2019 offers an opportunity to engage in a conversation about where we are, where we are headed, and what technologies will best get us there.
At the end of this conference, we hope you are equipped with the knowledge and tools to collaborate with your communities. Most importantly, we hope that you will carry forth the vision of bringing cutting-edge technologies and innovations to ensure that all benefit from the improved standards of living that 5G and networks of the future offer.
